Alright, so you wanna know about that Cinnabar place in Saratoga, huh? Lemme tell ya what I know. It ain’t fancy talk, just plain speakin’ like it is.
Cinnabar Winery Tasting Room – What’s the Big Deal?
Well, they got this place, see? A tastin’ room right smack dab in the middle of Saratoga. Heart of it, they say. Fancy that! Sounds important, right? Heart of Saratoga… Probably means it’s easy to find, which is good ‘cause I ain’t got time for wanderin’ around.
Now, what do they do there? Wine tastin’, that’s what. You go in, and they give you little sips of their wine. I ain’t no wine expert, mind you. Red, white, pink… it’s all the same to me mostly. But some folks, they like to swirl it around, sniff it, and talk about it like it’s the most important thing in the world. To each their own, I say.
When Can You Go Drinkin’… I Mean, Tastin’?
They ain’t open all the time, you know. Got their own hours, just like the grocery store or the doctor’s office. Let’s see if I can remember… Tuesday to Thursday, they’re open from noon to… what was it? Quarter to six, I think. Yeah, 12 to 5:45pm. Then on Friday and Saturday, they stay open a little later, till quarter to seven. 12 to 6:45pm. Gives folks more time to get their fill, I guess. Sunday and Monday? Nope, they’re closed. Probably off doin’ whatever fancy winery folks do on their days off.
- Tuesday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 5:45 PM
- Friday – Saturday: 12:00 PM – 6:45 PM
- Sunday – Monday: Closed
Gotta Make a Call First, They Say
Now, here’s the kicker. You can’t just waltz in there like you own the place. They want you to call ahead and book a table. Book a table? For wine tastin’? Seems a bit much, if you ask me. But that’s what they want, so that’s what you gotta do. I guess they get busy, especially on the weekends. Wouldn’t want a whole bunch of folks crowdin’ around, spittin’ wine everywhere.
Vineyards, Wineries, Tastin’ Rooms… What’s the Difference?
I heard someone talkin’ about this once. Said a vineyard is where they grow the grapes, like a farm. Then the winery is where they make the wine and put it in bottles. And the tastin’ room? Well, that’s where they sell the stuff, let you try it out. Makes sense, I guess. Like, the farm grows the corn, the factory makes the cereal, and the store sells it to you. Same kinda thing, just with wine.
First Tasting Room Ever?
Someone told me there was this fella, Charles Krug, and he had the very first tastin’ room in California way back in 1882. St. Helena, that’s where it was. Now, that place is a big deal, they say. World-class, even. Imagine that! All started with a little room where folks could try some wine.
So, Should You Go to Cinnabar?
Well, that’s up to you, ain’t it? If you like wine, and you’re in Saratoga, and you don’t mind callin’ ahead to book a table, then why not? Give it a try. Maybe you’ll find a new favorite wine. Maybe you’ll just have a nice afternoon out. And if you don’t like it? Well, you can always say you tried it. That’s more than some folks can say.
Just remember to call them before you go, okay? And don’t be late, ‘cause nobody likes a latecomer. And for goodness sake, don’t go drinkin’ and drivin’. That’s just plain foolishness. Be safe, have fun, and maybe you’ll tell me all about it when you get back.
Here’s what I know for sure, you gotta call ‘em to get all the info on the Cinnabar Winery Tasting Room in Saratoga. And if you ask me, that’s a bit of a hassle, but some folks like things fancy, I guess.
Now, I gotta go. Got chores to do and mouths to feed. This wine talk is makin’ me thirsty, though. Maybe I’ll just have a glass of iced tea. That’ll do just fine.
